“Pressure Mounts on Ex-Prince Andrew over Epstein Testimony”

Date:

Amid increasing pressure on Andrew Mountbatten Windsor to provide testimony regarding the Epstein files, a recently revealed private email exchange has surfaced discussing allegations that the former Duke of York engaged in “consensual sex” with one of Jeffrey Epstein’s staff members.

In a significant development last month, the 65-year-old was stripped of his titles by his elder brother, King Charles III. All official patronages and military appointments linked to the Crown have also been rescinded. Andrew, who no longer holds the title ‘His Royal Highness,’ has been instructed to leave Royal Lodge and relocate to a property on Norfolk’s Sandringham estate.

This turn of events comes after years of controversy surrounding Andrew’s association with the late Epstein, a convicted sex offender who passed away in 2019. Notably, Andrew has vehemently denied any misconduct despite accusations from Epstein’s whistleblower, Virginia Giuffre, who claimed he had sexual encounters with her when she was a teenage trafficking victim.

In a recent development, US lawmakers voted decisively to release the Epstein files, shedding light on an email exchange between Epstein and a former New York Times reporter, Landon Thomas Jr, discussing Andrew’s situation.

According to The Telegraph, in January 2015, Epstein corresponded with Thomas Jr, suggesting a strategy to counter allegations of sex trafficking by an ex-girlfriend. At that time, Epstein was already entangled in legal troubles, having pleaded guilty to solicitation charges in 2008 and facing federal charges for sex trafficking minors in Florida and New York.

In the email exchange, Thomas Jr advised Epstein to distance himself from Andrew to mitigate the ongoing controversy. He emphasized the importance of addressing the allegations to move forward and dispel lingering doubts.

Following these revelations, President Donald Trump called for an investigation into Epstein’s connections with Bill Clinton, a move met with denials from Clinton’s camp. Meanwhile, discussions in the US government have drawn parallels with the swift actions taken by King Charles and the UK in stripping Andrew of his titles, signaling potential congressional involvement in Andrew’s case.

The House Oversight Committee awaits Andrew’s response to their request for a “transcribed interview” regarding his ties to Epstein, stressing the urgency and gravity of the matter. The deadline for Andrew’s reply is today, November 20, 2025.
