Mark Critch is gearing up for the conclusion of “Son of a Critch” and assures fans that the finale will be worth the wait. The popular CBC comedy series, which is based on Critch’s bestselling memoir and has received eight CSA nominations, will return for its fifth and final season on September 8, taking viewers on one last journey to Newfoundland.
While the show is rooted in Critch’s past experiences growing up in ’80s St. John’s, portraying his own father on screen has created new and cherished memories for him. In the upcoming season, the narrative intertwines Mark’s final year of high school with Newfoundland’s cod moratorium, leading to a tumultuous period filled with first love, evolving friendships, family challenges, and aspirations of pursuing an acting career.
