After purchasing a seemingly well-maintained home in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, a family’s expectations quickly turned sour as they uncovered a series of unsettling surprises hidden within the walls. Kaija Bretzius, along with her husband Bryan, had chosen this property due to its perceived minimal need for renovations and budget-friendly nature.
However, as they delved into improving the property’s insulation, Bryan stumbled upon a collection of peculiar items stashed inside the walls. What started with old bottles soon spiraled into the discovery of vintage pornographic magazines from the 1980s and, shockingly, a burlap sack containing a chicken carcass.
Further exploration revealed a macabre find of over 20 chicken carcasses and other small animal remains, some of which were wrapped in newspapers dating back to the 1920s and 1930s. Unfortunately, the disturbance of these long-dead animals led to health issues for the couple, causing fevers and sickness for several days.
Kaija speculated that the animal remains may have been part of an occult ritual, possibly linked to “pow-wow” or Dutch magic practices. The family, taken aback by the unexpected turn of events, found themselves facing significant financial burdens as they had to reconstruct all the walls at their own expense.
