“Ferrari President Calls Out Hamilton, Leclerc After Sao Paulo GP”

Date:

Ferrari’s President, John Elkann, has criticized Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc following a disappointing Sao Paulo Grand Prix, urging them to concentrate more on driving and less on talking. Both drivers failed to secure any points in the race as they retired after encountering separate incidents.

Meanwhile, Ferrari’s World Endurance Championship team triumphed at the Eight Hours of Bahrain on the same day. The trio of Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi, and James Calado clinched the drivers’ title, with Ferrari leading by 74 points in the manufacturers’ standings.

Despite successes in other racing series, Ferrari has faced challenges in Formula 1 this season. Hamilton, in particular, has struggled to adapt, with only a Sprint race win earlier in the year as a highlight.

The deeper issues at Scuderia Ferrari have been exemplified by Leclerc’s inability to secure a Grand Prix victory despite minimal mistakes.

Elkann, who was in Bahrain during the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, blamed the drivers for Ferrari’s lackluster performance this season. He emphasized the importance of unity within the team and called for the drivers to prioritize their driving rather than engaging in unnecessary chatter.

Currently placed fourth in the constructors’ championship, Ferrari is the only top-four team without a Grand Prix win in 2025, trailing behind Mercedes and Red Bull. Hamilton, who faced a challenging race in Sao Paulo, expressed his determination to bounce back in upcoming races.

Leclerc acknowledged the team’s struggle for the runner-up position in the constructors’ championship and highlighted the need for flawless execution in the remaining races.

Sky has enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle by adding HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+, and Hayu, along with 135 channels and comprehensive Formula 1 coverage. Sky offers exclusive broadcasting of Formula 1 sessions throughout the season, as well as coverage of other sports like the Premier League, EFL, darts, and golf.
