“Verstappen Cleared in Hamilton Overtake Drama”

Date:

After the Hungarian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen was investigated for an incident involving Lewis Hamilton during the race. Verstappen overtook Hamilton on lap 29, causing the Ferrari driver to go off track. Despite being summoned to the stewards, no penalty was given as it was determined that Verstappen did not force Hamilton off track illegally.

Verstappen explained that he made a clean move on Hamilton with fresher tires, leaving space for Hamilton on the exit. The stewards confirmed that there was no contact between the cars and no further action was taken. Verstappen finished ninth in the race, while Hamilton ended up in 12th place, expressing his frustration after a challenging weekend.

The race was ultimately won by Lando Norris, who secured his fifth win of the season. Norris held off his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, with George Russell taking third place in his Mercedes. Norris now trails Piastri by just nine points in the championship standings as they head into the summer break.
