Taylor Swift did not receive any nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards, despite the remarkable success of her latest album. “The Life of a Showgirl,” Taylor’s 12th studio album, debuted on October 3, selling 4.002 million equivalent album units in its first week in the US. This achievement surpassed Adele’s record with her album “25,” which sold 3.378 million copies in its first week in the US in 2015.
Although Taylor, aged 35, was not nominated for the Grammys, it was due to the album being released after the eligibility cutoff date. Therefore, “The Life of a Showgirl” will be eligible for the 2027 Grammys. The 2026 Grammy Awards will celebrate the best recordings and artists from August 31, 2024, to August 30, 2025. Beyoncé also missed out on nominations this time as her album “Cowboy Carter” was released on March 29, 2024.
The Grammy Awards ceremony, set to take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1, 2026, will feature rapper Kendrick Lamar and pop star Lady Gaga as leading nominees. Lamar, 38, with 22 Grammys already, is up for nine awards across various categories, including record of the year, album of the year, and song of the year. Lady Gaga, 39, who has 14 Grammys, received nominations in record, song, and album of the year categories simultaneously for the first time.
Other notable nominees this year include Jack Antonoff, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and Cirkut. The album of the year category includes works from Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, Clipse, Pusha T, Malice, Leon Thomas, and Tyler The Creator. The song of the year category features artists like Doechii, Bruno Mars, HUNTR/X, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, and Finneas.
New artists like Lola Young, Olivia Dean, Tate McRae, Zara Larsson, and PinkPantheress have also received nominations this year. Additionally, there are new Grammy categories for traditional country album and best album cover, showcasing a diverse range of talents in the music industry.
