A young woman was sexually assaulted on a busy street in broad daylight in what authorities are investigating as a racially motivated incident.
The West Midlands Police received a report at 8:30 am on Tuesday from a woman in her 20s, who stated that she had been assaulted by two men in the Tame Road area of Oldbury.
Reportedly, the assailants made a racist comment during the assault, prompting the police to urge any witnesses to come forward.
Chief Superintendent Kim Madill stated that the investigation is actively pursuing leads through CCTV footage, forensic examinations, and other inquiries.
Madill reassured the community, acknowledging the concerns and anger generated by the incident, while emphasizing the police’s commitment to identifying and apprehending the perpetrators.
The Sikh Federation (UK) disclosed that the attackers verbally abused the victim, telling her to leave the country. The organization condemned the assault and provided support to the victim and her family.
