“Freeview Adds New Movie and Kids Channels: Time to Retune!”

Date:

If you own a Freeview television, it’s a great time to ensure it’s up to date and properly retuned. Recently, two new channels have been added to the free-to-view platform, offering movies and children’s programming.

One of the new channels is wedotv Movies UK, transitioning from online-only to an over-the-air channel accessible to all households, even those without internet-connected TVs. This channel features a lineup of recent blockbuster films like “One-Eyed Jacks,” “Willow Creek,” and “The Way.”

Additionally, there’s a channel specifically catering to younger viewers called Cartoon Classics, located on channel 214. This channel showcases beloved animated shows such as “The Smurfs,” “Count Duckula,” “Sonic X,” and “Leo & Tig.”

To enjoy these new channels, it’s recommended to update your TV settings. Freeview advises users to retune their devices due to upcoming changes in channel broadcasting on October 22, 2025, to ensure access to the latest channels and TV Guide updates.

In addition to the new channels, one service is undergoing a name change. Gems TV on channel 45 will now be known as Gemporia.

Freeview has provided instructions on how to retune devices, including steps such as accessing the menu on your box or TV remote control, selecting ‘set-up’ or ‘installation,’ choosing ‘first-time installation,’ and saving any found channels during the retune process.

Freeview emphasizes that channel offerings are continuously evolving, with channels adding, moving, or removing content to provide audiences with diverse and engaging programming options.
