TV host Roman Kemp disclosed that soccer legend David Beckham had a special message for him regarding his friendship with Romeo Beckham recently. Kemp shared that the conversation took place at a gathering for the son of the former Manchester United player.
At 32 years old, Roman revealed that he and 23-year-old Romeo are part of a seven-a-side team together, with Romeo having experience playing for Brentford F.C. The duo, along with singer Tom Grennan and ex-footballer Petr Cech, are teammates in a team named Netflix n’ Skills.
Romeo, the son of David and Victoria Beckham, reportedly faced criticism and negativity from spectators at games due to his famous parents. Roman mentioned that David asked him to watch out for Romeo earlier this year.
In an interview with the Sun, Roman shared that he conversed with David, whom he admires, at Romeo’s recent birthday celebration. David approached Roman at the party and requested him to take care of Romeo.
Roman, son of musician Martin Kemp and singer Shirlie Kemp, disclosed that he has also encountered backlash, mentioning an incident where he was confronted for being famous. He emphasized the importance of football as an escape and expressed support for Romeo, noting his resilience against criticism.
Highlighting Romeo’s football career following in his father’s footsteps, Roman conveyed that David had asked their teammates, which include some of his school friends, to look out for Romeo.
Concluding the discussion, Roman stressed that Romeo should not be targeted for his fame, commending his teammate’s positive attitude amidst challenges. Romeo, the second eldest of David and Victoria’s children, has pursued football, training with Arsenal and recently playing for Brentford professionally.
