A woman who survived a brutal sexual assault by a former actor from the TV show Hollyoaks has shared the disturbing request he made during the attack.
Rizwan Khan, aged 40, was found guilty of raping two women and also convicted of sexually assaulting one person and physically harming a child in different incidents. He was convicted of sexually assaulting one woman after a physical altercation and of raping another woman while she was asleep. The court heard that the second woman woke up to find Khan engaging in a sexual act with her.
Recently, Khan, who denied all accusations, received an 11-year and nine-month prison term at Teesside Crown Court. During the sentencing, emotional statements from the two rape survivors were read out, detailing the lasting trauma they have endured. One survivor expressed ongoing anxiety and nightmares, stating, “The memory of what he did haunts me. Seeing his face in the news makes me sick.”
In an earlier court session, Prosecutor Robin Turton revealed the appalling demand Khan had made to his victim: “I need what I need. I want what I want. You, as a woman, should comply with a man’s wishes.”
The victim recounted how Khan had been violent towards her before forcing himself on her sexually, despite her initial refusal out of fear. She described feeling compelled to submit to him eventually.
Turton described Khan’s violent actions towards the woman, including slapping, punching, and strangling her during the assault.
Another survivor disclosed that she had rejected Khan’s advances for sex at 3am due to fatigue and work commitments, but he proceeded to rape her.
Apart from serving his prison sentence, Khan, residing in Union Street, Middlesbrough, will be on the sex offenders register indefinitely and is subject to a sexual harm prevention order. Additionally, restraining orders have been imposed to prevent him from contacting the survivors.
Khan, a former call center employee who transitioned into acting at 34, appeared in various TV shows and films, including Hollyoaks and Vera.
