“Farage Pressured Over Silence on Racist Ad Remarks”

Date:

Nigel Farage is under pressure to address his prolonged silence following a controversial statement made by Reform MP Sarah Pochin regarding the representation of Black and Asian individuals in advertisements.

Anna Turley, chair of the Labour Party, has written a letter to Farage, questioning his lack of response to Pochin’s remarks. During a Talk TV segment, Pochin expressed frustration at seeing non-white individuals in adverts, causing a public outcry.

Turley condemned Pochin’s comments as racist and called out Farage for not taking action. Health Secretary Wes Streeting and Deputy PM David Lammy also criticized Pochin’s remarks, calling for consequences.

Although Pochin apologized for any offense caused, she defended her view that adverts do not accurately represent British society. Streeting suggested that her apology was insincere.

Lammy labeled Pochin’s statements as mean and racist, emphasizing the need for accountability. He urged Farage to take swift action and apologize on behalf of the country.

Reform UK has been contacted by the Mirror for a statement on the matter. Turley directly addressed Farage, urging him to clarify Reform’s stance and take decisive action against Pochin’s unacceptable comments.
