The 78th Emmy Awards were held on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This year, the red carpet was uniquely blue in honor of the 100th anniversary of host network NBC and its iconic peacock logo. Hosted by Mariska Hargitay, the event recognized excellence in television, with “Widow’s Bay” standing out as the biggest winner of the night. The Apple TV horror-comedy set a new record by winning a total of 14 Emmys, including the coveted Outstanding Comedy Series title and acting accolades for Matthew Rhys, Stephen Root, and Kate O’Flynn.

“The Pitt” secured the Outstanding Drama Series award for the second consecutive year, while “DTF St. Louis” triumphed in the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series category. Noteworthy individual victories included Noah Wyle for lead actor in a drama (“The Pitt”), Rhea Seehorn for lead actress in a drama (“Pluribus”), and Jean Smart for lead actress in a comedy (“Hacks”)—marking her fifth consecutive win in the category.
