Donald Trump and the White House are under scrutiny for allegedly utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology in a video where the President attributes Charlie Kirk’s death to the “radical left.”
Kirk, a close associate of Trump, was fatally shot while addressing a crowd at Utah Valley University recently. Although two individuals were initially apprehended in connection with the incident, they were later released, and authorities are still searching for the perpetrator.
In response to the tragedy, Trump expressed his condolences in a video message from the Oval Office, denouncing the act as a somber moment for the nation and praising Kirk as a “martyr for truth.”
Furthermore, Trump criticized his adversaries, attributing the escalation of animosity towards conservatives to the “radical left.” He highlighted past instances where individuals like Charlie Kirk were unjustly likened to Nazis and notorious criminals by their opponents.
Following the video’s release, social media platforms erupted with claims that the White House manipulated the footage using AI technology. Users pointed out anomalies in the video, such as distortions in the President’s hand movements, leading to speculation about the authenticity of the content.
Various individuals on social media voiced their suspicions, with one remarking on the apparent glitches in the video and another questioning the unusual movements observed in the background scenery during Trump’s address.
Speculation regarding the video being a product of “deep fake AI” circulated online, with disbelief expressed over the possibility of the White House producing such content. Despite the controversy, the video garnered millions of views since its release by the White House.
The Mirror has reached out to the White House for a statement on the matter.
Videos circulated on social media captured the moment Kirk was shot while delivering a speech under a tent bearing slogans like “The American Comeback” and “Prove Me Wrong,” causing panic among onlookers.
Following Kirk’s tragic demise, a UK branch of a conservative organization founded by Kirk announced plans to host a vigil in London to honor his memory. The group, Turning Point UK, invited supporters to join them in commemorating Charlie’s life at a gathering near the Montgomery Statue in Whitehall.
Jack Ross, the group’s chief executive, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating, “It’s absolutely shocking, we’re heartbroken over here in the UK.”
