A woman is in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck in what authorities suspect to be an unprovoked assault. The incident took place on Smallbrook Queensway in Birmingham, with police responding to the scene shortly before 9 pm on Friday following reports of the stabbing. The victim, a woman in her 30s, sustained a severe neck injury and is currently hospitalized. A man in his 20s was apprehended near the location and is now under police custody.
Detective Inspector James Nix stated, “We are treating this as an unprovoked attack and are actively investigating the motive behind it. Our officers will be present in the vicinity to further probe the incident and offer reassurance to the public. At the moment, there are no other suspects being pursued in connection with this case.”
