“Unidentified Person Accidentally Included in Trump Security Discussion”

Date:

Donald Trump encountered a security incident when an unknown person was inadvertently included in a conversation among officials discussing the President’s security measures. The individual, who wished to remain unidentified, found himself in a chat involving four people, including medical professionals, coordinating security plans for Trump. The conversation, initiated by an official at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, revolved around a Secret Service agent being stationed at the hospital as a precaution while Trump attended the US Open on Sunday. The person realized his inclusion in the chat at noon when medical officials were finalizing arrangements for the President.

The initial message, sent by a senior hospital official, informed the group that a Secret Service agent from the White House Medical Unit would be stationed at the hospital until approximately 6 pm as a standard security measure during Trump’s visit. Three hospital officials acknowledged the message, with one expressing gratitude. Upon realizing his unintended presence in the group chat, the individual humorously pointed it out, leading to a brief exchange before he exited the conversation.

Reflecting on the incident, the individual expressed disbelief and initially thought it was a prank. After verifying the identities of the participants, who were all medical professionals in New York City, the person was reassured of the seriousness of the situation.

In a statement, a spokesperson for NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst emphasized the facility’s role as the designated medical provider for US Presidents and other dignitaries, highlighting their commitment to universal care. Additionally, a United States Secret Service Official clarified that assigning agents to medical facilities during protective visits is a standard practice, emphasizing that there was no security breach during the event.

Notably, this incident is not the first time Trump and his team have faced security concerns due to inadvertent inclusion of unauthorized individuals in confidential communications. In a similar occurrence in March 2025, high-ranking US officials mistakenly added an editor into a group chat discussing military operations, leading to the exposure of sensitive information.

The incident underscored the importance of maintaining strict communication protocols, especially in sensitive contexts like national security discussions, to prevent unauthorized access to confidential information.
