The government is committed to reclaiming control by promoting the use of domestically sourced clean energy, such as solar and wind power, as well as advancing nuclear energy initiatives.
As part of our efforts to alleviate financial burdens on families, nearly three million households will receive a £150 reduction on their energy bills this winter through the Warm Home Discount program, benefiting a total of six million families. Furthermore, our upcoming Warm Homes Plan aims to enhance energy efficiency in five million homes nationwide, including rented and council properties, resulting in substantial cost savings for millions of individuals.
In addition, the Great British Energy initiative is actively reducing energy expenses for 200 local schools and hospitals by installing solar panels on their premises, redirecting funds towards essential services. In contrast, opposition parties like Reform and the Conservatives are advocating for policies that could jeopardize our clean energy objectives and expose the country to volatile fossil fuel markets, as seen in the case of fracking proposals.
Under this administration, various measures have been implemented to support the working population, including raising the minimum wage, expanding transportation benefits, extending free school meal programs, and introducing free breakfast clubs as part of the Plan for Change initiative.
