Tyson Fury has decided against facing Agit Kabayel and Joseph Parker as he prepares for his boxing comeback. The 36-year-old heavyweight, who had briefly retired earlier this year following defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, has confirmed his return to the ring next year.
Despite his eagerness to resume fighting, Fury clarified that he will not be entering the ring this year. Speaking at BoxFest recently, Fury mentioned that he is open to offers but is focused on his Netflix show and will not be making a comeback in 2022.
While expressing his interest in future fights, Fury made it clear that he will not be challenging Kabayel or Parker. He praised both fighters but emphasized that he sees them as future heavyweight champions and will not fight them under any circumstances.
Fury has set his sights on potential bouts with Usyk and Anthony Joshua. He expressed his desire for these matchups, particularly highlighting his long-awaited desire to face Joshua at Wembley. The British heavyweight, however, ruled out a clash with Parker, but the WBO’s potential decision to match Usyk against Parker could complicate Fury’s plans for a showdown with Usyk.
Promoter Frank Warren revealed that Usyk’s next defense will likely be against Parker, potentially leading to a significant matchup. Fury, on the other hand, has confirmed his third fight with Usyk scheduled for April 18, 2026, at Wembley Stadium, showcasing an intense rivalry between the two fighters.
Reflecting on his past fights with Usyk, Fury expressed his belief that he won the rematch decisively and emphasized his desire for fair competition and results in the future.
