An American triple murderer, Stephen Bryant, who went on a killing spree in South Carolina in 2004, had his last meal before being shot dead by a firing squad revealed. Bryant, 44, spent 20 years on death row before being executed on Friday. He chose to be executed by firing squad and made no final statement before his execution.
During the execution, Bryant was shot 55 seconds after the hood was placed over his head. Witnesses reported that the bullseye target marking his heart flew off his chest upon impact. Bryant showed minimal reaction with shallow breaths and a final spasm before being pronounced dead by a doctor.
Bryant’s final meal request included a spicy mixed seafood stir-fry, fried fish over rice, egg rolls, stuffed shrimp, two candy bars, and German chocolate cake. Bo King, a South Carolina lawyer specializing in death penalty cases, mentioned that Bryant had a troubled past, including a genetic disorder and a history of abuse.
Bryant admitted to the murder of Willard “TJ” Tietjen and two other men during his killing spree. He lured his victims into his car and shot them dead after they exited the vehicle to urinate. Bryant became the 43rd person to be executed in the United States this year, with 14 more scheduled before the year ends.
