Firefighters swiftly responded to a fire incident at the Trafford Centre in Manchester when a car caught fire and the flames spread to two other vehicles in a crowded parking lot. The event took place around 6:45 pm on Saturday near John Lewis. Images from the scene depicted flames towering over the cars, in proximity to a Christmas tree light display, with smoke drifting through the vicinity.
The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) stated that two fire engines arrived promptly and successfully put out the fire. According to a GMFRS spokesperson, all three vehicles affected were fueled by petrol.
An eyewitness mentioned that the car park was sealed off as emergency services, including firefighters and paramedics, arrived on the scene. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. Authorities have not determined the cause of the fire, ruling out any suspicion of foul play.
The GMFRS spokesperson provided details, stating, “Shortly after 6:45 pm on Saturday 8 November, two fire engines from Sale and Salford fire stations were dispatched to a car park at the Trafford Centre where three vehicles were on fire. Firefighters quickly arrived and utilized breathing apparatus and hose reels to extinguish the flames. Fire crews are currently present at the location.”
