Hollywood executives are engaged in a fierce competition to produce a biographical film about the iconic music figure, David Bowie. The movie is set to delve into his personal life, including intimate details and his ascent to stardom.
Suzi Ronson, the wife of Mick Ronson, who was a close associate of Bowie, has shared that her autobiography, “Me And Mr Jones: My Life With David Bowie And The Spiders From Mars,” is being adapted into a high-budget cinematic production. Following the release of the book last year, Suzi is optimistic about the potential for a remarkable film adaptation.
Speaking at the inaugural Ziggyfest Bowie fan gathering, Suzi expressed her anticipation to see which production company secures the rights to bring her book to the big screen. She disclosed, “The book has been auctioned off for a major motion picture. While no deal has been finalized yet, we are hopeful that it will come to fruition soon, offering a captivating portrayal of the Ziggy Stardust era and Bowie’s rise to fame.”
The upcoming film is expected to feature her brief romantic encounter with the music icon, which occurred while he was still married to his first spouse, Angie. Recounting the experience, Suzi mentioned, “The bedroom in his residence was decorated in pink with a gold ceiling. Despite perceptions, he was not openly gay. I was intrigued by him, and I believe Angie orchestrated the rendezvous.”
Detailing the events leading to Bowie’s distinctive Ziggy Stardust appearance, Suzi shared, “I initially styled David’s mother’s hair and was introduced to Angie to style David’s hair differently. Little did I know that over five decades later, I would still be reminiscing about him.”
Elaborating on the creation of Bowie’s signature orange spiked hair, she explained, “He showed me a picture of a woman with spiked hair and asked if I could replicate it. Despite it being a hairstyle typically associated with women, I managed to find the right dye and used an anti-dandruff solution called Guard, which solidified his hair.”
Reflecting on Bowie’s transformation with the vivid red hair, Suzi remarked, “He looked remarkable with that bold hair color. He truly embodied the essence of Ziggy Stardust, captivating audiences with his glam rock image.”
