“Son of Doomsday Cult Killer Receives Mysterious Message”

Date:

Lori Vallow Daybell, a member of a doomsday cult and a convicted murderer, has communicated a mysterious message to her surviving son while incarcerated. She was convicted of the murder of her children, Tylee Ryan and Joshua ‘JJ’ Vallow, as well as conspiracy to murder her husband’s former wife and grand theft by a jury in Boise, Idaho, in May 2023. Colby Ryan, her other child who was not residing at home during the tragic events, appeared on a panel at CrimeCon 2025 in Denver recently.

During the panel discussion hosted by journalist Nate Eaton, Colby revealed that his mother had learned about his participation and had a message relayed through Nate. The message conveyed, “I love you very much, no matter what,” along with a reference to the Bible verse Matthew 25. Colby interpreted her message as an attempt to portray herself in a positive light in terms of morality and spirituality.

Despite the message, Colby expressed a firm “No” when asked if he desired further communication with his mother. Lori Vallow Daybell gained notoriety in the US due to her bizarre beliefs shared with her partner, Chad Daybell. Chad claimed to have lived multiple lives on different planets and believed in classifying individuals as “light” or “dark,” based on their alignment with Jesus Christ or Satan.

One of Daybell’s extreme beliefs involved the existence of “zombies,” which were believed to be deceased individuals possessed by evil spirits. It is speculated that Lori and Chad viewed their children, Tylee and JJ, as ‘zombies’ and believed that killing their bodies would release their souls from possession.

During her trial, Lori claimed to have had divine experiences connecting her to Jesus Christ and the spiritual realm. She asserted that her children were content in the spirit world and that she had communicated with her deceased friend, Tammy Daybell, who appeared to be happy as well.

Following separate trials, Lori was sentenced to life without parole in July 2023, while Chad was convicted and sentenced to death in 2024. Lori later faced additional charges related to conspiring to kill her ex-husband and her niece’s ex-husband in separate trials in Arizona.
