UK weather maps have indicated that three UK nations are expected to experience snow in the upcoming days.
Although the southern region has been experiencing unusually warm weather, a shift to colder temperatures is anticipated in November. Forecasters from WX Charts have identified areas in England, Scotland, and Wales that could see snowfall. The weather charts display patches of purple, white, and blue, indicating the approach of colder weather to the UK. Predictions suggest that up to 56cm of snow could fall in certain areas around November 17.
The regions of north-west England, North Wales, and most of Scotland are likely to be impacted by the snowfall. The Scottish Highlands could witness significant snow accumulation, with up to 56cm expected in some areas. Edinburgh and Glasgow might receive around 3cm of snow.
Parts of North Wales are forecasted to see up to 3cm of snow on November 17 at 6 am. Additionally, regions like North Yorkshire, Cumbria, and near Greater Manchester could experience 6cm, 5cm, and 3cm of snow respectively on that morning.
The Met Office’s extended forecast for mid-November suggests a transition to colder weather in the latter part of the month. The outlook from November 11-20 points to unsettled conditions initially, with mild temperatures and rain across the UK. As the middle of the month approaches, a shift to drier weather is expected, accompanied by cooler temperatures and an increased risk of frost.
Recent weather maps have indicated the possibility of a prolonged snow freeze lasting 92 hours with Arctic temperatures as low as -6C for the UK. WX Charts’ maps starting from November 15 show the Midlands, north-west England, and Scotland facing snowfall, with the Scottish Highlands potentially dropping to -2C.
Snowfall is also anticipated in Wales and the north-west of England by November 16. By November 17, the snow is expected to settle from Scotland to Cumbria and Snowdonia in Wales, with temperatures plummeting to as low as -5 and -6C.
On November 18, temperatures could drop as low as -5C in Ireland, mid-Wales, and Scotland, lasting until November 19.
