“Sky Live Discontinued: Subscribers to Lose Interactive TV Device”

Date:

Sky TV users are in for some disappointing news as a recently introduced product is set to be discontinued next month. Sky Live, unveiled in 2023 as an innovative entertainment device for TV usage enhancement, is facing closure. This accessory, designed to work with Sky’s Glass TV, utilizes motion sensors and a built-in camera to provide various interactive features on the large screen. Subscribers paying £6 monthly can enjoy interactive games like Fruit Ninja, Stingray Karaoke, and Peppa Pig: Jump and Giggle. Additionally, the device enables fitness monitoring during home workouts and facilitates group viewing experiences, including watching Sky Sports together via the camera.

Despite its advanced features, Sky Live has not gained the expected popularity, leading to its shutdown on December 4, rendering the device non-operational thereafter. While Sky Live will be discontinued, Sky reassures users that games like the newly launched Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will still be available, but without an extra subscription requirement. A spokesperson from Sky emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and improving customer experiences, highlighting recent expansions in the Sky Glass range and broadband services. The spokesperson noted that valuable insights from Sky Live will influence future product development, with a focus on delivering faster, user-friendly products, premium content, and exceptional service.

Customers impacted by the discontinuation will be notified via email this week and offered refunds for purchased accessories, along with a convenient return process through free postage.
