An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a body part along the riverbank. Authorities in Montreal are working to identify the remains found near Rivière des Prairies, which are suspected to be part of an upper body. While police have not officially confirmed the body part as a severed head, sources indicate that it includes the upper body from the shoulders upward.
The remains are believed to be male, and efforts are underway to establish the identity of the individual. The cause of death remains unknown, with suicide not ruled out by authorities.
In a separate incident, six severed heads were found on a city street in Mexico, an area typically known for its peace. The discovery, made in an unexpected location between Puebla and Tlaxcala, has raised concerns about the motive behind the killings and the involvement of criminal groups. A blanket left at the scene with a message signed by a group named “La Barredora” hinted at possible gang rivalry.
Despite being relatively peaceful areas, Tlaxcala and Puebla have experienced challenges associated with criminal activities such as human and drug trafficking due to their central location. While the region accounts for a small percentage of national homicide figures, authorities acknowledge ongoing issues with criminal group movements.
Mexico has faced escalating cartel violence in recent years, leading to a significant number of casualties and disappearances since the government initiated military action against gangs in 2006.
