Six models of Tower air fryers are being recalled due to concerns about potential overheating and fire hazards. The affected products were distributed by various retailers such as Argos, B&M, DID, Lidl, Poundland, Robert Dyas, Tesco, and the Tower Housewares website. They were produced between January 2022 and April 2023.
Consumers are urged not to use the recalled models and can request a refund or replacement through the Tower Housewares website. To identify the affected models, individuals should check the appliance rating label on the underside of their air fryer.
A notice on the Tower Housewares website emphasizes the company’s commitment to safety and quality, prompting the voluntary recall. The Office for Product Safety and Standards also issued a warning stating that the air fryers pose a fire risk due to potential overheating, failing to meet safety regulations.
In a separate incident, an urgent safety recall was initiated for specific versions of Citroen C3 and DS3 vehicles. The recall pertains to second-generation Citroen C3s manufactured from 2009 to 2016 and first-generation DS3s produced from 2016 to 2019, equipped with Takata airbag systems. This action follows a tragic incident in France where a woman was fatally injured by a faulty airbag in a 2014 Citroen C3.
Approximately 82,000 C3 and DS3 models have been recalled in France, impacting an estimated 120,000 drivers in the UK. Stellantis, the parent company of Citroen, assured that no faults have been reported in the UK and is actively working to address the situation promptly and responsibly.
