“Rare Darth Vader Lightsaber to Fetch $1M+”

Date:

In a recent auction, a lightsaber featuring Luke Skywalker’s severed hand from the movie “The Empire Strikes Back” was sold for a record-breaking $3.75 million US. This sale marked the highest amount ever paid for a prop used in a “Star Wars” film, as confirmed by the auction house.

Now, another significant item up for sale is the lightsaber used by Darth Vader in the iconic duel at Cloud City, where he famously reveals to Skywalker, “I am your father.” This lightsaber, also seen in “Return of the Jedi,” is set to be a highlight of the upcoming Ultimate Star Wars Auction by Heritage Auctions on November 12. It is anticipated to fetch a minimum of $1 million US. The auction will feature over two dozen lightsaber props from various “Star Wars” episodes, as well as other productions within the universe created by George Lucas.

Among the items to be auctioned are the lightsabers wielded by Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker in “Revenge of the Sith,” each expected to sell for at least $10,000 US. Additionally, an EE-3 carbine blaster used by Boba Fett in “The Empire Strikes Back” is estimated to exceed $100,000 US in value.

The auction will also include unique pieces such as a Yoda puppet hand used by Frank Oz in “The Empire Strikes Back,” Anthony Daniels’ signed personal screenplay for the original 1977 “Star Wars,” and a TIE Fighter pilot helmet from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
