Canada has increased its medal count at the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World Championships in Poznań, as Sophia Jensen and Brianna Hennessy both secured their second medals of the competition, along with the women’s C4 crew earning a bronze. Jensen clinched silver in the women’s C1 200m event, adding to her gold medal earlier in the championships. She finished in 44.90 seconds, just 0.50 seconds behind Liudmyla Luzan of Ukraine who claimed gold. American Nevin Harrison secured the bronze with a time of 45.04.
Hennessy also made a return to the podium, winning silver in the women’s VL2 200m race with a time of 1:00.82. Emma Wiggs of Great Britain won gold in 58.76 seconds, while Anastasia Miasnikova of another bronze in 1:02.31. With this silver medal, Hennessy now has two medals from the competition.
The women’s C4 crew from Canada, consisting of Katie Vincent, Zoe Wojtyk, Sloan MacKenzie, and Elizabeth Desrosiers-McArthur, captured a bronze in the C4 500m event with a time of 1:48.17. China claimed the gold, and Hungary secured the silver in this race.
