In a joint statement, the Injured Jockeys’ Fund and Professional Jockeys Association expressed deep sadness over the death of licensed apprentice jockey Tommie Jakes. He passed away at his residence near Newmarket.
Tommie, a beloved son and brother, was a well-liked member of George Boughey’s racing team. His family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
