The upcoming change specifically affects Netflix, which will no longer be accessible on three older Amazon products starting in June. The affected devices are the Amazon Fire TV Stick (2014), Amazon Fire TV Stick with Alexa voice remote (2014), and Amazon Fire TV (2014).
To continue enjoying Netflix content, users with these devices will need to consider purchasing a newer model such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max or Fire TV Stick 4K. The reason behind this decision is speculated to be related to the AV1 codec used by Netflix for higher quality streaming, a feature not supported by the 2014 Fire TV devices.
Customers on a Premium Netflix plan may lose access to features like 4K resolution due to this change. To determine which Fire TV device you own, check the Settings > My Fire TV > About section on your device.
