Myleene Klass Breaks Down Over Daughter’s Departure

Date:

Myleene Klass, a member of the band Hear’Say, recently shared a tearful moment on Instagram as she grappled with her eldest daughter’s impending departure. In the emotional video, the 47-year-old mother of three, including Ava, 18, whom she shares with ex-husband Graham Quinn, is seen visibly upset, expressing her uncertainty about how she will manage the situation.

Seated in her car wearing a grey Sketchers hoodie after a visit to the opticians, Myleene, with tear-stained cheeks, mentioned that her emotions were a mix of sorrow and the experience of trying contact lenses for the first time.

Reflecting on her anguish, she revealed, “I just left the opticians, tried contact lenses for the first time, and got emotional when he asked about my children. I broke down saying, ‘I have three kids, but my 18-year-old is heading to university soon.’ I ended up crying, which was not ideal while having contact lenses fitted.”

Myleene’s children include Ava and Hero, 14, from her previous marriage and three-year-old son Apollo with her fiancé Simon Motson.

Reaching out to fellow mothers with older children, she questioned, “How do you handle this? How do you bid farewell to your first love? Is this what I have to endure for three years? I want this for her, but it’s hard for me. She hasn’t left yet. How will I manage to drive her there while feeling like this?”

In a moment of vulnerability, Myleene admitted feeling overwhelmed but reassured her followers, saying, “I’m probably being silly, but my heart is aching.” She added, “I promise I’ll be okay, but preparing her room, shopping for one, and hugging her a lot before she leaves, you suddenly realize the bittersweet nature of this.”

Meanwhile, the Classic FM personality had to defend Ava against online critics who labeled her a ‘nepo baby’. Ava, a talented pianist who excelled in school and secured a place at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music, faced insinuations that her success was solely due to her mother’s influence. Myleene clarified, “She has dedicated hours to playing the piano, went through a rigorous audition process at the Royal Academy of Music, and earned her place based on her own merit, not just because of her famous parentage.”
