Police authorities have released a surveillance image of a man they wish to interview following the double sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl on a train. The incident occurred when the girl, accompanied by her mother, was en route to the train’s lavatories just after 8 p.m. on August 16. According to the British Transport Police, the man trailed her and then sexually assaulted her a second time upon her exit. The train was en route from Birmingham to Hereford.
In response to the “deeply distressing” episode that shocked the victim and her family, law enforcement has initiated an inquiry and disclosed the image of the individual they seek to speak with in relation to the assault. Described as having brown hair, a beard, and dressed in a grey t-shirt, the man is believed to possess crucial information that could aid the investigation, as stated by Det Sgt Matthew Grieve of British Transport Police.
Grieve emphasized the significance of speaking with the pictured man, asserting, “This is a deeply distressing incident which has shocked and impacted the family. We would like to speak to the man pictured, as we believe he may have valuable information that would help our investigation.”

The official statement from British Transport Police reads: “Do you recognize this man? Officers investigating the sexual assault of a young girl on a train between Birmingham and Hereford have today released this image in connection. Just after 8pm on Saturday 16 August a man sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl who was walking with her mother to the train toilets. He then followed and waited outside the toilets, sexually assaulting her again as she left.”
