“Luke Littler Dominates World Grand Prix Final”

Date:

World’s top-ranked player Luke Humphries admitted that he shifted his focus away from personal performance during a crushing 6-1 loss to Luke Littler at the World Grand Prix. The highly anticipated final between the top two players in the global rankings was expected to be closely contested.

However, Littler dominated from the start, quickly establishing a commanding 4-0 lead. He narrowly missed achieving a historic nine-darter during the match, showcasing his exceptional skill. Littler ultimately clinched a decisive 6-1 victory, claiming the £120,000 winner’s prize, while Humphries settled for the £60,000 runner-up reward, visibly disappointed by the outcome.

Speaking after the match on Sky Sports, Humphries, also known as ‘Cool Hand,’ acknowledged Littler’s clinical performance and revealed that he shifted his focus to entertaining the crowd as the match slipped away from him. Despite his reliance on Double 16 in past years, Humphries expressed frustration at its lack of cooperation on this occasion.

Reflecting on his defeat, Humphries vowed to intensify his training and improve his game to challenge Littler more effectively in the future. Meanwhile, Littler revealed his plans to compete in the World Youth Championships in Wigan the following day, emphasizing his commitment to enjoying the competition and giving his best effort.
