“Kamala Harris Eyes Presidential Run: ‘I am not done'”

Date:

Kamala Harris is contemplating another run for the presidency, expressing her determination by stating, “I am not done.” Despite her defeat to Donald Trump in the 2024 election, the former Vice President hinted at her potential candidacy during an interview with the BBC, suggesting that she could foresee herself as President one day, particularly with the prospect of a female president during her grandnieces’ lifetimes.

Emphasizing her commitment to a life of service, Harris dismissed her status as an outsider in the race for the Democratic Presidential candidate, as bookmakers suggest, with polls showing her leading the pack. She maintained a 3.6-point lead over her closest competitor, California Governor Gavin Newsom, with Pete Buttigieg trailing at just 9.6%.

Despite her favorable poll numbers, Harris disregarded their significance, citing her past decisions to run for office despite initial doubts. Criticizing Trump as a “tyrant,” she pointed out his actions as evidence of authoritarian behavior, including targeting individuals like late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel.

Harris also condemned business leaders who complied with Trump’s demands, highlighting a list of companies and individuals who financially supported Trump’s projects. She accused them of seeking favor with power for various reasons, such as approval for mergers or avoiding investigations.

The full interview with Harris will air on Sunday morning as part of Laura Kuenssberg’s BBC One program.
