Joe Marler considered leaving the TV show “Celebrity Traitors” following a personal tragedy in his family. The former England rugby player, aged 35, shared his struggles during the program, where he was one of the final five contestants alongside Nick Mohammed, Cat Burns, David Olusoga, and the winner, Alan Carr. Marler revealed that he almost quit the show after his wife’s grandmother passed away, but decided to stay after some advice from his wife.

During an interview with The Times, Marler disclosed that most of the other celebrities on the show were unfamiliar with him, except for a few individuals like Joe Wilkinson, Jonathan Ross, and Clare Balding. Despite feeling a bit out of place in the celebrity circle, Marler made efforts to integrate and connect with his fellow contestants.

Reflecting on his experience, Marler expressed his enjoyment of the show, particularly highlighting his “big dog” theory involving Jonathan or Sir Stephen Fry as the potential Traitor. He also humorously mentioned discrepancies in the rumored payment amounts for contestants, stating that he received £30,000 regardless of the duration of his stay on the show.

Marler’s candid remarks shed light on his challenges and triumphs on “Celebrity Traitors,” showcasing his determination to overcome personal obstacles and make the most of his television experience.
