Date:

ITV News host Charlene White has shared the overwhelming support and love she received after the tragic loss of her father, who passed away by suicide earlier this year.

In a recent column for The i Paper, Charlene expressed gratitude for the outpouring of kindness from family, friends, neighbors, and school acquaintances in the aftermath of the tragedy. She described the immense comfort she found in the gestures of support during this difficult time.

While still struggling to come to terms with the loss, Charlene highlighted the deep impact of the community’s compassion on her family. She recounted the generosity of friends and neighbors who provided constant support through meals, drinks, and other gestures of comfort.

Returning home after staying with her aunt, Charlene was moved by the outpouring of support at her house, including flowers, heartfelt cards, and food deliveries from neighbors and school families. Despite the emotional challenges, she found solace in the overwhelming kindness surrounding her.

Known for her longstanding presence on ITV since 2008, Charlene made history as the first black woman to anchor the ITV News at Ten. Additionally, she is a familiar face on Loose Women, where she joined the panel in 2021, and she also ventured into reality TV by appearing on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2022.

For those in need of emotional support, the Samaritans helpline at 116 123 or email at jo@samaritans.org are available resources for assistance.
