“International Corgi Event in Vilnius Draws 150+ Participants”

Date:

Over 150 corgis gathered for an international event in Vilnius, celebrating the small herding dogs from Wales. The fifth Corgi Race in Vilnius at Vingis park featured a costume parade, a “smartest nose” challenge, and a loudest bark competition. Participants from nine countries, including the U.S. and Britain, competed in various events.

Organizer Edvinas Miskas noted the event’s growth from 40 corgis in the first year to 150 from different countries this year. The main race saw 94 dogs competing, with the American corgi GG emerging as the 25-meter sprint winner.

The event showcased more than just speed, with a costume parade featuring creative outfits and a “smartest nose” challenge where corgis found hidden treats. Mr. Corgington won the loudest bark competition, while other participants displayed their unique skills and costumes.

Despite the focus on competitions, the event fostered a sense of community among corgi owners and enthusiasts. Half of this year’s participants were first-timers, while some veteran corgis have attended every edition, adding to the event’s charm and tradition.
