“Hamilton Expresses Disappointment, Leclerc Secures Pole”

Date:

Lewis Hamilton expressed disappointment with his performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying, referring to himself as “useless” and suggesting that Ferrari might need to consider a driver change. Hamilton, who failed to make the top 10 and will start the race in 12th position on the grid, was visibly emotional during his interview with Sky Sports. In contrast, Charles Leclerc brought jubilation to the Ferrari team by securing pole position, marking their first of the season. Hamilton, despite showing promise in practice sessions, struggled with balance issues that ultimately impacted his qualifying results.

Leclerc, who had initially labeled the Hungaroring as his least favorite circuit, delivered an exceptional qualifying lap to beat the McLaren drivers, who had been dominant in practice. The Monegasque driver’s elation was evident as he outperformed his rivals and claimed pole position. On the other hand, McLaren’s Lando Norris was edged out by Oscar Piastri, setting up an intense battle between the two in the upcoming race.

Piastri, leading the championship by 16 points over Norris, aims to extend his advantage in the race before the summer break. The upcoming Dutch Grand Prix will be the next event on the Formula 1 calendar after Hungary. The grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix also sees George Russell and Norris on the second row, followed by the Aston Martin duo of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, showcasing improved performance compared to the previous race at Spa-Francorchamps.
