Google is introducing a new feature in Gmail to help users better manage their email subscriptions. This new “Manage subscriptions” function allows users to easily see all active subscriptions and the number of messages sent by companies in recent weeks. If users find certain subscriptions overwhelming or irrelevant, they can quickly unsubscribe with just one touch, streamlining the process. Once unsubscribed, Gmail will automatically send the request to the sender.
According to Google, the volume of subscription emails can be daunting, including daily deal alerts, newsletters from forgotten blogs, and promotional emails from long-unused retailers. With the new feature, users can efficiently view and manage their subscription emails, simplifying the unsubscribe process from a centralized location. To access this feature, users can click on the navigation bar in the top-left corner of their inbox and select “Manage subscriptions.”
Google has started rolling out the ability to manage subscriptions on the web, Android, and iOS platforms in select countries. Additionally, Google highlights that it now blocks over 99.9% of spam, phishing, and malware, providing users with enhanced email security. The company has also implemented new AI-based defenses that have reduced scam emails by 35%.
