Chris Eubank Jr is keen on rescheduling his rematch with Conor Benn for November after initial plans for a September 20 clash were postponed. The delay was attributed to Eubank Jr by Eddie Hearn, but the Brighton boxer clarified that he has not withdrawn and simply requires more time to prepare for the rematch following his victory in the April fight.
Despite being obligated to a rematch under the same conditions, including weight limits and rehydration clauses, Eubank Jr is not avoiding the bout but rather feels he will not be adequately prepared by September. His representatives have reached out to Saudi boxing influencer Turki Alalshikh to discuss a potential November date, with negotiations underway for the fight to be held in either London or the Middle East.
While Eubank Jr prefers London as the venue and discussions are ongoing with Tottenham for a revised date, there is a possibility of moving the event indoors due to weather considerations. On the other hand, Benn has expressed his reluctance to wait and plans to shift his focus back to the welterweight division to pursue a world title.
In other boxing news, Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has hinted at the prospect of a match between Joshua and Jake Paul, a popular American YouTube personality. Despite skepticism surrounding the matchup due to Paul’s limited boxing experience and size disparity, discussions are underway to potentially make the fight happen.
Meanwhile, Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois are set to compete for the undisputed heavyweight championship on July 19. Fans can watch the fight on DAZN PPV for £24.99 or access it for free with a DAZN Annual plan. Hearn, in talks with Paul’s team, envisions the fight with Paul as a way to keep Joshua occupied while awaiting Tyson Fury’s return. Hearn anticipates both fighters will pursue separate opponents before a potential showdown next year.
Hearn emphasized the desire for Joshua to face Fury but acknowledged the likelihood of interim fights before a potential meeting in 2026.
