Gabriel Farrel, known for his success in the pizza industry in Brazil, met a fatal end when his parachute failed to open during a jump over Rio de Janeiro’s Reserva Beach. Despite the efforts made at the hospital, the 31-year-old succumbed to his injuries.
Merely 24 hours before the incident, Farrel posted a touching video on Conrado Beach, showcasing a moment of joy with his dog and emphasizing the importance of cherishing life every day. With a substantial following on Instagram and TikTok, his sudden demise prompted an outpouring of tributes from his admirers.
One of the heartfelt messages read, “You always radiated positivity and happiness wherever you went,” while another tribute mentioned, “Your presence illuminated every space you entered.”
Vinicius Lousada, in a particularly emotional tribute, acknowledged Farrel’s vibrant approach to life and business. He expressed gratitude for the lessons inadvertently imparted by Farrel and the impact he had on those around him.
Originally trained as an engineer, Farrel switched careers to pursue his passion for cooking, ultimately establishing the popular Borda & Lenha pizzeria chain in Brazil. His appearance on Shark Tank Brazil in 2021 further elevated his profile and provided the necessary investment to expand his business.

The unfortunate incident follows the tragic death of avid skydiver Jade Damarell, who fatally fell from 15,500 feet shortly after a breakup. Damarell, an experienced skydiver, met her demise in Co Durham, with investigations indicating that her death was a deliberate act. The inquest revealed that she did not activate her parachute systems, leading to the fatal outcome.
