After a decade, the identity of a man found deceased beneath a concrete slab with a gunshot wound has been established.
The human remains have been identified as Chester Williams, who was discovered on August 26, 2021, in Las Vegas when a homeowner was breaking up a concrete slab.
Law enforcement reported that the victim died from a gunshot wound to the head and is believed to have been buried for a minimum of 10 years.
Authorities received a tip-off on July 29 this year, with a member of the public leaving a voicemail suggesting they might know the victim’s identity.
The individual stated that Williams had resided with her parents until he disappeared between 1998 and 1999. She also mentioned that her parents lived on the same street where Williams was found, recalling them pouring a concrete slab at the location of his disappearance.
Mohave County Sheriff’s officials shared, “When she inquired about him, her parents claimed he had left suddenly, leaving all his personal belongings behind, which she found peculiar.”
The woman’s parents, identified as Alvin and Bea Hamilton, passed away in 2006 and 2018, respectively.
A DNA sample taken recently confirmed the victim’s identity as Chester Williams.
In another incident, a man faced charges for driving with a deceased individual to a hospital before informing staff and fleeing, as per law enforcement reports.
Christopher Caron, aged 42, allegedly drove a black Honda Civic to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts, with a body in the backseat last weekend.
After parking in front of the emergency room entrance, the suspect disclosed the presence of a body inside before fleeing while a hospital employee inspected the car, authorities reported.
Upon examination, the staff found the body wrapped in blankets and secured with duct tape.
The victim was identified as Declan Perry, a 27-year-old from Portland, with the car being confirmed as his. The cause of his death remains undisclosed.
Neighbors informed the police that they had assisted Caron in loading a “large, heavy blanket” into a black Honda Civic on the same day. Authorities searched Caron’s residence and seized various pieces of evidence.
