A comprehensive ‘murder map’ has shed light on over 1,000 unsolved cases across the UK, ensuring that the victims are not forgotten despite their killers still being at large. This exclusive list, compiled through Freedom of Information requests to all police forces in the country and supplemented with extensive research from local newspaper archives, has brought attention to a variety of mysterious deaths.
The newly released special publication, Britain’s 1,000 Unsolved Murders volume II: Midnight Stalkers, features a database of more than 1,100 cases, delving into some of the most perplexing crimes that authorities are still working to solve. Among these cases is the tragic discovery of Angela Millington’s skeletal remains on Foulness Island, Essex, with investigators facing challenges in determining the circumstances of her death due to limited evidence and conflicting reports about when she was last seen alive.
In a separate incident, Russian exile Nikolai Glushkov, a vocal critic of Vladimir Putin, was found strangled in his London home, sparking suspicions of foul play. The case of Melanie Hall, whose remains were found years after her disappearance in Bath, remains unresolved despite multiple arrests made in connection with the crime.
Similarly, the unsolved murders of George Wilson, Abraham Badru, Joyce Cox, Alisa Dmitrijeva, and John McMurchie continue to haunt their families and communities, with law enforcement facing obstacles in gathering concrete evidence to bring the perpetrators to justice. These cases serve as reminders of the unresolved mysteries and tragic losses that have left a lasting impact on those affected.
As efforts persist to seek closure and accountability for these unsolved murders, authorities and the public remain vigilant in pursuing leads and providing support to the families of the victims in their quest for justice.
