Ricky Hatton, the celebrated boxer from Manchester, was captured in a joyful moment with his daughters and granddaughter shortly before his untimely passing. The 46-year-old was found deceased at his home in Gee Cross, Hyde today, with the authorities confirming that there is no suspicion surrounding his death.
Known as “Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton,” the boxing legend’s demise has deeply saddened the boxing community and left behind his three children: Campbell (24), Millie (13), and Fearne (12), as well as his granddaughter Lyla (7). Ricky became a father at the age of 22 when he had his son Campbell in 2001 with his former partner Claire. Subsequently, he welcomed Millie and Fearne during his relationship with his former fiancée Jennifer Dooley.
In 2018, Ricky’s granddaughter Lyla, who is Campbell’s daughter, was born. Just over two weeks ago, he shared a heartwarming photo on social media celebrating Lyla’s 7th birthday, where he lovingly held her in his arms. Ricky’s post expressed his affection for his granddaughter, captioned with, “Happy 7th birthday to my beautiful gorgeous granddaughter @lylahatton_ Love you baby girl. Grandad Richard. Xxxx.”
Additionally, Ricky shared a moment with his daughters, Millie and Fearne, during a family trip to Tenerife last month, capturing the memory with the caption, “Lovely meal tonight as always in @thaibotanico and up in the safari centre with my @xmilliexxhattonx and @fearne.hatton_2013.”
Despite a turbulent relationship in the past, Ricky also leaves behind his beloved parents whom he reconciled with in 2019 after a ten-year estrangement. Reflecting on the difficult times, Ricky confessed, “Ultimately when I fell out with my parents, I hit rock bottom. I didn’t care whether I lived or died to be honest with you.” Realizing the importance of family, he made efforts to mend the relationships before it was too late, emphasizing the need to let go of past grievances.
