The traditional Sunday afternoon time slots on 39 local radio stations are being replaced by The Make A Difference Show, which debuted on September 14. The show will run from 2 pm to 6 pm on stations not broadcasting live sports, with the presenter yet to be announced.
Among the shows being removed from their schedules is John Leech’s Soul Show, which aired on BBC’s Eastern stations. Similarly, Simon Logan’s 80s and 90s show on BBC Radio Newcastle and Tees has come to an end, with Logan bidding farewell to listeners.
Additionally, BBC Merseyside and BBC Cumbria’s 80s and 90s program, hosted by Lisa Marrey, concluded over the weekend. Paula White’s program aired across five stations, while Sile Sibanda’s music and conversation show aired on BBC Radio Sheffield, BBC Radio York, and BBC Radio Leeds.
