“Assault Victim Arrested for Seeking Justice”

Date:

An individual was taken into custody for attempting to locate the individual who assaulted her, whom she referred to as a “monster,” following an encounter on the Tinder platform.

The victim, known by the pseudonym “Elle” to protect her identity, encountered her assailant, James Clacher, only 15 minutes before the assault occurred.

The 57-year-old was convicted of a violent attack in 2019 and the subsequent rape of another woman a year later. Prior to his court appearance, Clacher made efforts to feign his death and escape to Spain from Scotland.

Nevertheless, five months after his supposed demise, law enforcement officers apprehended Elle at her residence on charges related to the Communications Act due to reports of her harassment towards Clacher’s family.

She was detained briefly before a court hearing was scheduled for the following month.

In an interview with Sky News, she refuted the claims of harassment and explained that she contacted the family in pursuit of justice, stating she was “desperate” for it.

She expressed, “I was attempting to locate my assailant. I reached out to individuals who I believed might have information on his whereabouts.”

During the trial at the Glasgow High Court, it was revealed that she had posted messages on social media and messaged Clacher’s relatives, accusing them of supporting a racist individual.

Subsequently, the case was dismissed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.

Elle was assaulted by Clacher at her residence in Troon, South Ayrshire, in August 2019 while preparing for an evening out. She recounted being pushed against a wall, physically assaulted, and subjected to further attacks in her bedroom.

She described feeling “shaken and tearful,” expressing her refusal for intercourse, which Clacher disregarded and continued against her will.

After the assault, Elle initially contacted the police but filed an official report only upon learning of Clacher’s subsequent attack on another woman a year later.

She stated, “He’s truly despicable. He’s a monstrous individual. I encountered pure evil that day, though it took time for me to realize it. It wasn’t until I discovered he had victimized someone else that I truly confronted the situation.”

On the day Clacher was to be questioned about the charges, he disappeared, leaving a suicide note in his vehicle at Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, attributing blame to Elle for his actions.
