Arson Attack on Labour MP’s Office in Washington

Labour MP Sharon Hodgson’s office in Vermont House, Concord, Washington, was targeted in a suspected arson attack. The incident, which occurred overnight, resulted in flames engulfing the building, leaving it severely damaged. Emergency services responded to the scene and have since made an arrest in connection with the incident.

Local residents observed graffiti on the building’s walls with the message “328 days – blood on your hands,” believed to be related to a global conflict. Residents, including John Foster from Eagle Archery club, expressed shock at the scene, finding the area cordoned off by police when they arrived.

Despite the incident, representatives for Ms. Hodgson stated that she remains committed to serving her constituents and will not be deterred. They emphasized that violence has no place in society and urged constituents to reach out with their concerns through the usual channels.

Northumbria Police confirmed the arrest of a man in his 20s in connection with the fire at Sharon Hodgson’s office. The individual is being held in custody on suspicion of criminal damage and arson. Authorities have requested anyone with information to contact them through various channels, providing a specific reference number for the incident.
