International team captain Geoff Ogilvy has selected Corey Conners from Listowel, Ontario, and Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, British Columbia, to join the upcoming Presidents Cup. Notably, this marks the first time since 1998 that the International team will have two Japanese players, with Hideki Matsuyama securing one of the six automatic spots.
On the American side, Jackson Koivun, who recently left Auburn, has been added to the U.S. team for the Presidents Cup. Koivun’s swift rise in professional golf, including winning the 3M Open and qualifying for the PGA Tour postseason in just five tournaments, has earned him a spot on the prestigious team. His achievement is reminiscent of Jordan Spieth in 2013, as he started the year without a tour card and is now set to compete in the Presidents Cup.
U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker has also chosen Jacob Bridgeman, a winner at Riviera this year, for the team. Notably, Snedeker opted for Bridgeman over Ryan Gerard, ranked 22nd globally, who had a strong showing at the Tour Championship and finished third.
The Presidents Cup, scheduled for September 24-27 at Medinah, will showcase these talented players in a highly anticipated event. The golf course has undergone a complete renovation by Ogilvy’s golf course design company based in Australia.
