Android phone users are advised to promptly check for and install the latest system update as a new patch has been released. While this update is not as critical as the previous month’s upgrade, experts recommend immediate installation to enhance device security.
According to Adam Boynton, Senior Security Strategy Manager EMEIA at security firm Jamf, the latest Android security bulletin does not report any currently exploited vulnerabilities. However, users are strongly encouraged to update their devices as the fixes primarily target the Android framework, a key component for building Android applications and a prime target for cybercriminals seeking elevated access and administrative rights.
Although this month’s Google updates do not include any “zero day” vulnerabilities, which are flaws known to cybercriminals, Android users are urged to remain vigilant and ensure their devices are up to date to mitigate potential security risks. Running older Android software versions leaves users vulnerable to attacks.
Jamf’s Boynton highlighted four vulnerabilities within the Android system component, specifically related to improper input validation. These vulnerabilities, including CVE-2025-26453, CVE-2025-26445, CVE-2025-26441, and CVE-2025-26443, could potentially allow unauthorized access to sensitive information or the execution of arbitrary code by local applications.
The June security bulletin addresses critical vulnerabilities that have not yet been exploited in the wild, offering an opportunity to proactively patch all supported devices before cybercriminals target them. Pixel phones are likely to receive this patch first, with other manufacturers like Samsung, OnePlus, Sony, Xiaomi, and Honor following suit.
Leading Android companies are extending support for devices, with Samsung, Google, and Honor offering up to seven years of updates for many of their latest models. Users with older Android devices that no longer receive free security updates are advised to consider upgrading to a newer supported handset for enhanced protection.
