Pro wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has passed away at the age of 40. AEW confirmed the news of Satterley’s death on Sunday without disclosing the cause. His final televised match was against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago.
Satterley, hailing from Newcastle, England, began his wrestling journey in 2004 in the U.K. He gained recognition for his acrobatic style and muscular physique while competing in various independent wrestling circuits worldwide, including Japan and Mexico. His interest in wrestling sparked at 18 due to his aunt’s admiration for WWF.
Formerly known as Adrian Neville in World Wrestling Entertainment from 2012 to 2018, Satterley was a prominent figure in NXT and the cruiserweight division. He joined AEW in 2019 and made a significant impact, winning multiple championships and introducing his finishing move, the black arrow.
Revered for his in-ring persona as “The Bastard,” Satterley showcased both serious and comedic sides during his matches. Despite keeping a low profile outside the ring, he received an outpouring of tributes posthumously, celebrating his talent, humility, and friendship.
Satterley’s unexpected demise follows the recent passing of fellow AEW wrestler Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher. Williams, who collapsed during a wrestling event in Pittsburgh, passed away at the age of 48. Satterley shared a photo with Williams on social media shortly before his own death.
The wrestling community mourns the loss of these two talented performers, remembering Satterley as a dedicated professional and a beloved friend.
