Locals in central Stockholm were shocked by a deafening noise and sudden screams as a bus crashed into a bus stop, causing casualties and injuries. The incident occurred in Östermalm, the heart of the Swedish capital, in the afternoon, prompting a swift response from the police following reports of the crash at approximately 3:24 pm local time.
Law enforcement quickly flooded the area, deploying numerous police vehicles and ambulances to assist the injured. Tragically, several individuals lost their lives in the accident. Witnesses recounted the harrowing moment of the impact, with one resident recalling hearing the loud bang and witnessing the aftermath from their window.
Eye-witness Michelle Mac Key, who had just disembarked from another bus, described the chaotic scene of the double-decker bus colliding with the bus stop.
